THE NICKNAMES

Dearest Darling Readers,
Many of you may be wondering why we call each other Tree, Spock, Kevin, and Ron, as Bimbo told you all in her first post. Well, here are the stories out of which these nicknames were born. Some may be hard to follow, in those "you had to be there" moments, and I will also include some of the other nicknames we have for ourselves, such as Baby-Eater, Bartholomew, and a few others. Please enjoy these ridiculous anecdotes, as retold by me, Book. These will go in chronological order.

1. "Bartholomew"
Book and Geek have been friends since sixth grade, when they met in their "super-smart" math class. One day, Book asked Geek what her middle name was, and Geek refused to answer. By the end of seventh grade, Geek had given Book the clue that it began with "B-A-R." Although it is not her true middle name, "Bartholomew," Book's first guess, stuck.

2. "Tree"
One day, Book and Freak were waiting for the bell to ring to end the lunch period. They were standing in the courtyard discussing as what they would be reincarnated. Freak pointed out, "Book, you would be reincarnated as a Weeping Willow tree, because of your hair" (Book has very long hair that goes down to her waist). Book, who is also known as a major klutz, responded "No, I would be the tree that falls down whenever there is even one slight breeze." She then proceeded to demonstrate, using her arm, how the wind would affect her, in tree form. "Wind, Ow. Wind, Ow. Wind, Ow. Wind, Ow." Thus, Tree was born.

3. "Baby-Eater"
About one minute after "Tree" came into being, a woman pushing a stroller walked into the courtyard where Book and Freak were standing. Freak proceeded, as the freak that she is, so exclaim "What a cute baby! [pause] I wanna eat it!" And that, my friends, is the tale of how Freak came to be known as "the Baby-Eater."

4. "Kevin"
Freak's brothers' names are Nick and Joe. Freak must be the third Jonas. Book and Bimbo decided one day, walking from lunch to wherever these strange creatures go, to start calling Freak "Kevin," and see when she would figure it out. Freak, being the genius that she is, immediately caught on and was thenceforth called "Kevin"

5. "Spock"
Freak, Geek, Book, and Bimbo all went to see the new Star Trek movie as soon as it came out (Freak, Geek, and Book later went to see it again on the IMAX screen, but unfortunately, Bimbo was unavailable on the night in question), seeing as the star, Chris Pine, is Bimbo's future husband. After the movie, all riled up, Freak and Geek began practicing their "Live Long and Prosper" signs. Geek is unable to produce this finger formation on her right hand, and can only use her left. She was dubbed "Spock" because in the Spock action figure (which Geek recieved for her fifteenth birthday from Freak), he uses his left hand.

6. "Ron"
This is one of the more fuzzy stories, as no one can really know exactly how Bimbo became known as Ronald Weasley, except that there were "Muggle Quidditch" posters up all over our school with a picture of Ron in the middle, which a very hilarious expression on his face. Ron Weasley is interchangable with Ron Stoppable, because another one of our friends, who is not a part of this wonderful blog, is nicknamed Kim Possible (her initials are K.P. and Ron always called Kim "KP" in the show).

(Freak, Geek, and Bimbo: I have skipped over Bimbo's first nickname for reasons I will explain in person)

Hello Bloggers, this is Book, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Darien's elite.
XOXO
